The PCF held their June meeting in Magrath where members had the opportunity to provide their updates. Laurie Hamilton (Zanshin Environmental Networks Inc.) shared her update on the Grassland Vegetation Inventory Business Case to the group and valuable discussions were had. Following presentations, the group headed outside on a guided tour of the beautiful McIntyre Ranch. The setting of the original barn was fitting as Ralph Thrall shared the history of the ranch and information to set the stage for the tour. Many thanks to the Thrall family for touring us through the ranch.

Blackfoot Crossing Historical Park, Alberta
The PCF held their September meeting at the Blackfoot Crossing Historical Park. The indoor venue was a perfect place to meet and provided beautiful views of the Bow River valley. Members gave updates, Robert Sissons shared a presentation about the Southern Alberta Native Seed Collaborative, and Nolan Ball talked about the current updates for the next Prairie Conservation Action Plan. After great conversations and a delicious traditional meal of beef stew and bannock, the group headed outside on a guided tour. It was a beautiful fall day to learn about the history of the Blackfoot Nation and visit this National Heritage Site.

Heritage Hall, Milk River
The PCF held their June meeting on the 14th of June at the Heritage Hall in Milk River. Members gave updates, Tim Romanow shared a member profile for the Milk River Watershed Council Canada in the morning. After great conversations and a nice meal the group headed out to tour many of the projects of the MRWCC including bat houses and ended the day with a visit to Jane Lancasters’ property near Writing on Stone where she shared her efforts at native grassland reclamation.

The PCF held their fall meeting and tour on Thursday, September 22. Participants spent the morning at the Maycroft Hall and after a hot lunch enjoyed an afternoon touring the Waldron Ranch with Mike Roberts.

The PCF held the 2022 annual general meeting online via Goto Webinar. The meeting included board of director and working committee updates, a feature presentation from Calgary Zoo/Wilder Institute, election of the 2022/2023 board of directors and member updates.
