Who We Are:

Results from the 2024 Membership Questionnaire

 

In April 2024, the Transboundary Grassland Partnership (TGP) conducted a membership questionnaire to better understand who we are as a network and where our collective efforts are focused.

We reached out to over 300 participants, and received 54 responses.

Where We Work

Our members work across a wide geographic range, reflecting the transboundary nature of our network. The distribution highlights strong representation from key prairie regions in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Montana.

Primary Affiliation

Respondents represent a diverse mix of organizations, including:

  • Government agencies

  • Conservation organizations

  • Academic institutions

  • Private industry professionals

This diversity strengthens our collaborative capacity and brings a variety of perspectives to prairie conservation.

Purpose of Work

Participants identified their primary goals (multiple selections allowed), in which over 30 participants responded Conservation of Habitat or Species, and Restoration/Recovery of Habitat or Species.

What’s Working?

When asked about the most effective initiatives for conserving species-at-risk, preventing native grassland loss, and restoring prairie landscapes, members cited:

  • Partnerships with Conservation Groups
  • Federal programs

  • Self Interest
  • Land Trust

  • Provincial Programs

Collaboration Partners
